Centrifugal asphalt extractor for the quantative determination of bitumen content and gradation of aggregates in bituminous meterial. Operation requires a relatively shor period of time: Sample is weighed, heated slightly to start crumbling, cooled, placed in an aluminum rotor bowl and solvent added. When set in motion, centrifugal forces all liquid through a filter-paper ring at the periphery of the bowl. The process is repeated until expelled solvent is clear, aggregates are then weighed and graded.
